POLY(METHYL METHACRYLATE) Usage
Optical and Advanced Light Transmitting Materials: Due to its light transmittance comparable to optical glass, lightweight nature, and shatter resistance, it is widely used in the manufacture of automotive headlights, optical lenses, display screen covers, aircraft cockpit canopies, bulletproof glass alternatives, and high-end building skylights, advertising light boxes, and display racks.
Chemicals and Medical Supplies: Medical-grade PMMA is widely used in the manufacture of intraocular lenses (for cataract treatment), rigid contact lenses, dentures, and dental prostheses.
Functional Additives and Coatings: Powdered PMMA is used in coatings, paints, and plastics as a film-setting agent, a highly effective light diffusing agent, and a scratch-resistant modifier.
Others: Used in the production of printing plates, adhesives, and inks. Also used in cosmetic intermediates, conductive polymers, plastisols, and other industries.
