Substrate for dehydrogenases and other peroxidases. Used for the determination of glucose – 6 – phosphate dehydrogenase (glucose – 6 – phosphate dehydrogenase); And blood coagulation factor I (fibrinogen) precipitation reagent. It is also one of the substrates of alkaline phosphatase, which catalyzes the formation of insoluble blue products.
