HPEG 2400 Usage

Key Macromonomer for Polycarboxylate Superplasticizers (PCE): It serves as the critical macromonomer raw material for producing the latest generation of polycarboxylate-based high-performance superplasticizers.

  • Ambient-Temperature Free-Radical Copolymerization: It undergoes free-radical copolymerization with small monomers—such as acrylic acid (AA)—in an aqueous phase using an initiation system effective at ambient or low temperatures (20–50°C); this process requires no complex heating, operates under mild conditions, and delivers extremely high yields.
  • Enhanced Concrete Performance: The resulting polycarboxylate superplasticizers offer high water-reduction rates, excellent slump retention, broad cement compatibility, and high early concrete strength, making them widely used in high-quality concrete projects such as high-speed railways, bridges, dams, and high-rise buildings.

Polymeric Surfactants and Construction Additives: It is used to synthesize specialty polyether-modified polymeric dispersants, emulsifiers, and additives for construction chemicals.
