Mainly used as solvents, intermediates, jet fuel, sprays, etc.

1.As a solvent, it has a strong dissolving capacityfor alcohols, ketones, ethers, esters, as well as dyes, greases, waxes, resins, and synthetic rubbers. It is a strong solvent for acetic acid fibers in combination with alcohol; it can be used in combination with alcohol and mirabites to dissolve triacetate fibers instead of chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents. As a low-temperature solvent, a copolymer of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate can be dissolved, and it can also be used for dissolving nitrocellulose.

2.It is an intermediate forchemical productssuch as amine, hydroxylamine, nitrohydroxy compound andnitroalkane chloride. Used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce anti-tuberculosis drug ethylamine butylate.
