High-end cosmetics whitening and freckle-removing core ingredient: Kojic acid is a dermatologist-recognized potent tyrosinase inhibitor. It is widely added to high-end whitening serums, freckle-removing creams, lotions, and masks to lighten age spots, freckles, melasma, and acne scars.

• Mechanism: Produced by fermentation with fungi such as Aspergillus oryzae, it specifically chelates copper ions in tyrosinase molecules, thereby inactivating the enzyme and fundamentally blocking the synthesis of dopa and dopaquinone, effectively inhibiting melanin production.
