Antioxidant DTPD Usage
Rubber & Tire Industry:
Heavy-Duty & Off-Road Tires: Essential amine antioxidant added to sidewalls, treads, and carcass compounds of truck tires, bus radial tires, and OTR (off-the-road) tires to prevent flex cracking and ozone degradation under harsh mechanical stress.
Conveyor Belts & Industrial Rubber Hose: Extends the service life of heavy-duty rubber conveyor belts, high-pressure rubber hoses, rubber rollers, and mechanical seals exposed to dynamic loading.
Polymer & Elastomer Stabilization:
Synthetic Rubber Processing: Used as an effective dynamic anti-aging stabilizer in NR (natural rubber), SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber), BR (butadiene rubber), and NBR (nitrile rubber).
Main properties:
Antioxidant DTPD (3100) is a p-phenylenediamine-based antioxidant and an antiozonant for polychloroprene (CR) adhesives. It is a highly efficient antioxidant in the tire industry and is also suitable for a wide range of other rubber products.
Antioxidant DTPD (3100) offers ozone and flex-cracking resistance comparable to that of 4010NA and 4020, and superior to that of conventional antioxidants.
Antioxidant DTPD (3100) provides excellent long-lasting protection. When used in combination with antioxidant 4020 or 4010NA, it forms an optimal antiozonant system that extends tire service life. This is due to a synergistic effect: antioxidants 4020 or 4010NA provide necessary short-term protection during the initial stages, while antioxidant DTPD delivers long-term protection.
Because the molecular structure of antioxidant DTPD (3100) features solubilizing groups on both sides of the benzene ring, it exhibits significantly higher solubility in rubber and is less prone to blooming, allowing for higher dosage levels in rubber compounds.
Due to its low alkalinity, antioxidant DTPD (3100) has minimal impact on vulcanization and scorch characteristics. Furthermore, as the p-phenylenediamine antioxidant offering the best resistance to metal-catalyzed degradation and long-lasting protection, it is particularly well-suited for truck tires, off-the-road (OTR) tires, and various radial and bias-belted tires operating under demanding conditions.
In addition, antioxidant DTPD (3100) effectively eliminates the issue of tire surface discoloration (turning red) often associated with antioxidants 4010NA and 4020.
